PA-15 Vagabond UM

(2 customer reviews)

From: $45.00

With the exception of a new side-by-side fuselage, The PA-15 Vagabond utilized much of the same production tooling of the Piper Cub, allowing the aircraft to be built with minimal costs, and is credited with saving Piper Aircraft from bankruptcy after WWII. Our micro indoor version of the historic PA-15 Vagabond features docile handling, simple assembly, and has been engineered to readily accept popular ParkZone Ultra Micro electronics.

Another excellent kit from SA. My adult daughter asked what would make a good Christmas gift and I told he any UM kit from Stevens. She selected the PA-15. As with the other three SA kits that I have built, both the kit and the instructions were exceptional. The plane went together easily and flew well on the first flight. I elected to cover my model, and with decals and a slightly oversized battery it weighs 1.7 oz. I am getting 5-minute flight times with a 200mAh battery. This would be a great little inside flyer, but I fly outside in light winds with no problems.

My first SA kit, but definitely not my last! Excellent materials, stupendously good plans and instructions, and top notch laser-cutting- I built many a model in my youth, and have kept up with the hobby more or less for 20 years, and the Vagabond is one of the nicest experiences I’ve had in the sport.
